Which size should you use?

Designing for Instagram? Default to 1080 × 1350 px (4:5 portrait) for maximum reach.
Posting to LinkedIn? Use 1080 × 1080 px (square) and export as a PDF.
Doing both? Design once at square (1:1) so the same slides work on both platforms with no cropping — then convert to a LinkedIn PDF.

What is the best Instagram carousel size?

1080 × 1350 px (4:5 portrait). It takes up the most space in the mobile feed and consistently drives higher engagement than square or landscape. Every slide in a single carousel must share the same aspect ratio.

What size should a LinkedIn carousel be?

LinkedIn carousels are PDF document posts. Square 1080 × 1080 px (1:1) is the safest choice and repurposes directly from Instagram. Landscape 1920 × 1080 px (16:9) works well for data-heavy slides viewed on desktop.

How many slides can a carousel have?

Instagram supports up to 20 slides per carousel. LinkedIn document posts are PDFs and technically allow far more pages, but 8–12 slides is the practical sweet spot for completion and saves.

Can I post the same carousel on Instagram and LinkedIn?

Not as-is. Instagram uses image posts (often 4:5) while LinkedIn uses PDF document posts, so slides get cropped or letterboxed if you upload them directly. You need to reformat the slides and merge them into a PDF first — igli does this automatically in about 30 seconds.
